Star Speller app for iPhone and iPad

Star speller is the fantastic new educational phonics app for kids. The colourful worlds, customisable avatars, rewards and games keep children motivated and unable to put the app down. Just give it a try and watch your child’s phonic knowledge soar. It has been designed and tested by practising teachers, so you can be rest assured that it will enhance and complement the main phonics programmes taught in schools.

Travel through 50 levels, each one focusing on a new phoneme. As your child progresses through the app they will systematically build on previously learnt sounds. They drag letter tiles to build a word. The child will hear the sound as they tap on a tile. On completing their attempt at the word the English voiceover will read back to them what they have spelt so they can hear where they may have made a mistake. It then locks down the correct sounds and gives the child an opportunity to replace it with the correct sound tile. When the word is spelt correctly they will be rewarded with stars which they can then chose to spend customising their avatar or playing a game.
